A Power of Attorney for Health Care is a document that allows a person (the “Principal”) to delegate to another person (the “Agent” or “Attorney in Fact”) to make decisions about your health care in case you are not able to make those decisions yourself. It gives that person instructions about the kinds of medical treatment you want.
A Power of Attorney for Property is a documents that allows a person (the “Principal”) to delegate to another person (the “Agent” or “Attorney-In-Fact”), which is often a family member or trusted friend, the power to make decisions regarding the Principal’s assets, finances, bank accounts, and other types of property, including real estate.
